In God We Trust - Badly informed friar Feldman takes off to Los Angeles. to raise money for his monastery. This film is a comedy that is sadly unfunny starring Richard Pryor, who plays God. Cast includes Marty Feldman, Peter Boyle, Louise Lasser, Richard Pryor, Andy Kaufman, Wilfrid Hyde-White, and Severn Darden. (97 minutes, 1984)
Life on a Strand - Musical, marvelously filmed tale of a blind boy who is informed by his master that his ability to see can be repaired if he commits his life to music; he gets to be a saintly old gentleman still without ability to see who travels from village to village with his young student harmonizing melodies, which he finds emotionally nurturing. Considerate film stuffed with poetic energy, and a soundtrack of significant melodies. Cast includes Liu Zhong Yuan, Huang Lei, Xu Qing, Ma Ling, and Zhang Zhengguan. (110 minutes, 1991)
The Horse Whisperer - After her daughter is gravely hurt in a horse riding accident, her well-heeled mother takes the horse to a well-known horse whisperer in Montana. A romance between the two follows.
The Choirboys - Purportedly joke adventures of LA. Cops who alleviate work pressures by raunchy doings. This is a Crude, foul-minded, heavy handed film from book by Joseph Wambaugh, who disavowed this failure. Cast includes Charles Durning, Louis Gossett, Jr., Perry Baron, Clyde Kusatsu, Stephen Macht, Tim McIntire, Randy Quaid, Don Stroud, and James Woods. (119 minutes, 1977)
Colleague X - Structure with American Gable heating up arctic Russian Lamarr a streetcar conductor. Insincere romance storyline by no means convinces; Bressart has amazing closing line, Cast includes Clark, Gable, Hedy Lamarr, Felix Bressart, Oscar Homolka, Eve Arden, and Sig Ruman.
